The strength of MTRA lies in its dedicated volunteers. From retirees to high school students, stay-at-home moms to entrepreneurs, bankers to ranch managers, our volunteers are from all walks of life, but they share a few things in common—a desire to help others and a willingness to learn. Come as you are….We provide all the training you will need to become an integral part of an organization that not only enriches the lives of its clients, but offers volunteers an opportunity to become part of something greater than themselves.
Never before in MTRA’s history has the need for volunteers been so great. We have a large waiting list of riders and only so many hours in the day, horses in the barn and instructors available to teach. Additionally, since we support two facilities, we are always in need of assistance with maintenance from gardening to dragging pastures to repairing fences. We are also in need of administrative help to promote community awareness, reach out to funding sources and to stay in touch with our volunteers, students and their families.
If you, your church, your school or other organization are looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity that offers a full range of ways to help that can fit with even the busiest schedule, complete the volunteer form and one of our representatives will call you to tell you what MTRA is all about. We believe the warmth of our staff and the rewards of helping others will be provide a strong purpose in your life, and in the lives of others.
We are desperately in need of able bodied volunteers for our Hillcrest location during business hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September through May. For a little insight into being a volunteer, read Ruth's story below:
